Welcome! My name is Shakera Hawkins and I’m a Marriage and Family Therapist dedicated to helping couples, families, and individuals to overcome challenges and thrive.

My Approach

I believe that we’re all interconnected. We are all members of systems which include our families, social circles, work groups, and our communities at large. Our challenges are shared and derive from the issues present in the many systems we exist in. These challenges become patterns that impact our functioning and the way we view ourselves and others. I focus on helping you to interrupt these unhelpful patterns, learn useful coping skills, and improve your overall wellbeing.

Therapy with me involves the cultivation of a genuine, therapeutic relationship grounded in safety. I know that sharing traumatic events and weaknesses can be difficult. For this reason, I place intent focus on providing you with a space where you can be open, honest, and vulnerable. In the space we create together, you’re safe to heal, grow, and change.
